Major Accomplishments

• Implemented the new ArchView GIS Platform city-mapping program.
• Performed audits and code enforcement for key properties.
• Plan checked and inspected 65 Single Family Residential units.
• Adopted California Building Code with Amendments.
• Continued the implementation of the Certificate of Occupancy Program. Inspections are geared to life safety and occupancy issues.
• Annual Business Inspection program to ensure code compliance and safety of commercial buildings, especially aging buildings in the downtown area.
• Plan checked and inspected 245 Single Family Residential units.
• This department has provided over 1,675 construction related inspections and completed 325 individual final inspections of construction projects.
• Job specific training in the following areas: Search Warrants, Trespass Issue, Interviewing Techniques, Incident Command System, Search and Inspection Warrants, Legal Aspects of Code Administration, Building Division Personnel Management, Communication for Code Officials.
