The City Council
The City Council of Soledad serves as the legislative and policy branch of City government. Its purpose is to set overall policy direction and its mission is to maintain and improve the quality of life of the residents of the City. The City Council is comprised of five elected members who represent the residents of the City.
The Mayor was elected by the residents of the City beginning November 2004. Prior to that, he had been elected by the City Council.
