Council Members

Mayor Richard Ortiz is retired from the Correctional Training Facility - Soledad as a Chief Engineer in the Maintenance Department. He has served on the City Council for the past 22 years. His term as Mayor expires in November 2008.
Christopher Bourke
Mayor Pro Tem Christopher Bourke works at Soledad High School as a Government and Economics teacher. He has lived in Soledad since 1995. He was first elected to the City Council in November of 2000 and his current term will expire in November 2008.

 

 

Councilmember Martha Camacho is the first elected latina to the Soledad City Council and the youngest member of the City Council. She works for the Center for Community Advocacy (CCA) as the Director of Administration and Finance. She was born and raised in Soledad. She is the proud wife of Julio Camacho and mother of three children. She graduated from Heald Business College with her degree in Accounting with honors. Councilmember Camacho was elected to the City Council in November of 2006 and her term as Councilmember expires in 2010.

 

 

Juan Saavedra

Councilmember Juan Saavedra works at Soledad Local Development Corporation and has served as a member of the Soledad City Council as a past Mayor of Soledad from 1974 to 1976 and again on the Council 1972-1974 and from 1982-1984. His present term as Councilmember began in November 2006 and expires in November 2010. He has worked in community Economic Development for over twenty-five years and has a Masters Degree in Regional Planning.

Patricia Stephens

 

 

Councilmember Patricia Stephens works as a librarian at Gabilan School and is the Mother of three children.  She has lived in Soledad for 33 years.  She was elected to the City Council in November of 1998 and served as Mayor Pro Tem from 1998 to 2000.  She was re-elected to the Council in 2004.  Her term expires in November of 2008.
