Soledad Police Department - Explorer Post
About the Explorer Program
The Soledad Police Department has established a Law Enforcement Explorer Post affiliated with the Boy Scouts of America. Members of the Police Department participate in the program as Post Advisors and are involved in the recruitment, selection, training, and supervision of the Explorers. Members of the Post receive police-related training, go on patrol ride-alongs with officers, work varied duties within the Police Department, and compete against other Posts in police-related and athletic competitions.
Who Can Join?
The program is open to boys and girls 14 through 21 years of age and they must be no older than 20 years on the date of their application. Candidates must have at least a "C" average in school and be of good moral character without any serious arrest record.
What Qualifications Must I Meet?
Successful completion of entrance examinations, both written and oral are required, as well as the approval of the Explorer Post Advisors and Department staff.
