Downtown Revitalization Plan

The City is actively pursuing revitalization of Oldtown Soledad. By July 2004, the downtown will have completed a program to replace streets, sidewalks and center median with new improvements. The City will also be adding a park and ride lot on the west side of Front Street . In support of the downtown, the City has made available matching grant funds of $5,000 -$15,000 to support facade improvements. Anyone with a business located downtown (within the City's Redevelopment Area ) may apply for this matching grant to paint and upgrade the exterior of their business. Guidelines are available from the Community Development Department. Oldtown Soledad Business Association has committees, composed of residents and business owners, who are actively working to improve the downtown area. Contact the OSBA for information.
