City Engineering
The City Engineering Department protects the public's investment within the City of
Soledad by implementing the policies that guide and direct the growth of the City
over the next twenty to fifty years as established by the City Council in the
City's General Plan (25 MB PDF File).
The City Engineer accomplishes this by reviewing and setting conditions of approval for
development applications that will ensure that public infrastructure that is needed by
on-going development within the City will be provided at the time it is required.
The City Engineering Department protects the public and the environment during earth
moving operations by issuing Grading Permits and the observation of ongoing grading
and construction works within the City.
The City Engineering Department also provides expansion, improvements and repairs to
the City's existing infrastructure through construction projects that are planned and
financed through the City's Capital Improvement Program.
