Tourist Information
The City of Soledad and its surrounding region is bounded by the beauty of the
Gabilan Mountains to the east and the Santa Lucia's to the west. They are surrounded
by the Valley's booming agricultural community, home to fields of lettuce, broccoli
and asparagus, as well as row upon row on some of the finest wine grapes in
the state.
There's hiking and camping, a wealth of California history to discover and a pace of life that's reminiscent of a less hectic time.
In a nutshell, Soledad is:
- One of the fastest growing communities in Monterey County, if not the fastest
- More than a town, it is a community
- Safe; in fact it is one of the safest communities in Monterey County
- Means value; your real estate dollar has more purchasing power in Soledad than in North Monterey County
- Leaders believe in education; the city leaders are committed to providing the best education for the youth of Soledad ; new high school was completed in 1998, and two new elementary schools, Frank Ledesma and Jack Franscioni Elementary Schools will shortly be completed
- Home to progress and innovation; plans are in the works for expanded shopping and revitalizing the town
- Personifies country charm; it is like a step back in time where neighbors help one another and children enjoy summer evenings outside with friends and neighbors
