Roads and Highways
California Highway 101 is a four lane divided roadway, which abuts the southern boundary of the city. Alternative north to south routes includes Interstate Highway 5, which is accessed by Highway 198 located a few miles south of King City. An additional scenic route is the famous central coast route Highway 1, which can be accessed from either the Monterey Peninsula or Nacimento Ferguson Road.

Roads and highways leading out of the city provide trucking to both San Francisco and Los Angeles markets within one day. Five trucking firms are established in King City and there are numerous major firms throughout the Salinas Valley.

Rail Systems
The city is serviced by Union Pacific Railroad's coastal main rail line running parallel to the East Ranch Business Park and abutting the park boundary. Rail service is available to the second phase of the East Ranch Business Park, subject to negotiation.

In addition, the Amtrak Coast Starlight provides bus services from the Salinas depot to Carmel and the Monterey Peninsula.

Airports
King City Municipal Airport is a general aviation facility located on the northeast edge of the city. Runway length is 4,500 feet. The airport can accommodate charter flights and cargo. Other proximal airports, which offer connecting passenger flights, include Monterey Peninsula Airport (60 minutes north) or San Luis Obispo (70 minutes south). Long haul domestic and international flights are readily available from San Jose, San Francisco or Oakland.
