DESCRIPTION:The City of Soledad is moving toward district City Council Elections. Join us at this workshop to learn about how this will impact you\, give your input\, and have an opportunity to draw your own map. \nThe City of Soledad has historically held “at large” elections. This means that any city councilmember could run for office regardless of where they live within the city limits. Now\, the city will move to district elections where in order to for someone to run for a council seat\, they must live within the boundaries of that district. Acompáñanos en este taller para aprender como esto lo afectara de su opinion y tener la oportunidad de dibujar su propio mapa. \nHistóricamente\, la Ciudad de Soledad ha organizado elecciones “en general”. Esto significa que cualquier concejal de la ciudad podría postularse para un cargo sin importar dónde viva dentro de los límites de la ciudad. Ahora\, la ciudad pasará a las elecciones de distrito donde para que alguien pueda postularse para un puesto en el consejo\, debe vivir dentro de los límites de ese distrito. ¿Tienes alguna idea u opinión al respecto? ¡Acompáñennos el 15 de abril y háganos saber lo que piensa!
