The Soledad Water Division is dedicated to delivering a reliable supply of high-quality water. The City provides water service throughout the community using a system of municipal wells, water treatment facilities, aboveground storage tanks, and distribution pipelines. This system delivers water to approximately 4,500 metered service connections, including residential, commercial, industrial, institutional, and landscaped properties.
The Water Plant Operations section of the Water Quality Control Division is responsible for:
- Performing maintenance and repairs to the infrastructure necessary to safely procure, treat and deliver safe drinking water.
- Operation and maintenance of the City’s water wells, pumps, storage tanks and delivery system.
- Water quality protection activities that include infrastructure maintenance, water quality monitoring and illicit discharge prevention.
- Public education and outreach related to water use and conservation.
- Hydrant maintenance and Hydrant Meters.
- Water service meter turn-ons, turn-offs, and shut-off.
- Water meter readings for utility billing.
Water Quality Consumer Confidence Report
The City of Soledad’s Water Quality Report is also known as a Consumer Confidence Report (CCR), which is a key part of the public’s right to know as established in the 1996 Amendments to the Safe drinking Water Act (SDWA, section 1414(c)). The City of Soledad is required by Federal regulations to provide to its customers a CCR each year. This report lists the regulated contaminants found in the drinking water, as well as health effects information related to violations of the drinking water standards.
