Report a Code Violation

The Code Enforcement Division is responsible for the enforcement of certain health and safety regulations as well as the ongoing maintenance and consistent use of property throughout the City through the education and enforcement of maintenance codes, inoperative vehicle abatement, and zoning codes which regulate land use, signs, and development standards. Code Enforcement also assists Animal Control, Fire, Police, Building, and planning departments in the interpretation and enforcement of Soledad municipal codes.

Example of code violations that can be reported

  • Converted Garages or Rooms
  • Buildings without a permit
  • Fence Heights
  • Construction Noise
  • Abandoned Cars or RVs
  • Sub-Standard Housing
  • Sign Ordinance Violations

Request a Public Works Repair

The Public Works Department is responsible for maintaining the city’s infrastructure, including streets and sidewalks, public parks, right-of-way landscaping, community facilities, traffic signals, streetlights, the storm drain system. We regularly patrol our city to look for maintenance items, but we also rely on citizens to tell us when there is a problem. If you see something that is broken or could use improvements, please submit a ticket to let us know.

  • Damaged or non-working street lights
  • Pot holes or unsafe streets
  • Water leaks
  • Damaged or missing signs
  • Graffiti or vandalism
  • Issues or suggestions at the public parks
  • Right of way landscaping or tree issues

The City of Soledad is now utilizing a new Citizen’s Request Portal for our residents to contact us for any of the issues above.

If you want a completely anonymous way to report a crime or give tips to assist the police department, you can do so by using a service called WeTip. The information collected will come to us and will never reveal any personally identifiable information.
