The Soledad Fire Department recently conducted its annual fire inspections. Annual Fire Inspections help mitigate known hazards and ensure that our city is being maintained safely and appropriately.  The fire department reviews proper maintenance of the following items:  fire protection systems, egress systems, fire protection installation, electrical hazards, and fire extinguishers, and also confirms sufficient site access for fire department personnel and apparatus.

Performing annual fire inspections minimizes the chances of fires occurring, thus reducing fire and property damage while increasing public safety.  More specifically, the fire department performs annual inspections to comply with state law (California Health & Safety Code) which requires an annual fire inspection in the following occupancies:

  • Apartments
  • Hotels
  • Motels
  • Public and Private Schools (Grades K-12)

The most important benefit of a fire inspection is that it allows us to educate our citizens on fire safety and build a working relationship with our local business owners.
