On February 19, the Soledad City Council voted to invest in Workforce Housing. With the cost of housing on the rise, it has become difficult to fill many city positions. To help with that, the City purchased a one-bedroom townhouse at Las Viviendas using the proceeds from the recent sale of city property to the Soledad Unified School District. The plan is to rent the unit to a City employee whose income falls between 80% and 160% of the Area Median Income (AMI).

The City of Soledad sees this as an additional step to ensure that housing does not impede getting the most qualified talent to work for our city.
